1980 VW Scirocco mk1

This is a 1980 VW Scircocco Mk1. I bought the car from another enthusiast who had made some modifications to the car. This car is equipped with an updated 5-speed manual transmission and a GX 1.8 motor. It runs and drives great. It also has a lower control arm brace and strut brace installed as well as VW Snowflake rims with newer tires. Odometer shows 117,143 miles.

Features and further details:

While the car runs and drives well it is by no means a perfect car. The paint job is pretty old and could use a re-spray as it is fading on the roof of the car. There are a couple of minor rust bubbles on the car and those are shown in the close-up pics on our website. The rocker panels and floorboards seem to be in good shape with no rust. 

The pictures don't show window cranks because we needed to order some. The car will be sold with new window cranks installed.

  • 1.8 engine with 5-speed gearbox. Shift linkage will have all new bushings installed as part of sale

  • Upgrade front air dam

  • VW Snowflakes with newer tires

  • Lower control arm brace

  • Windows, lights, wipers, fan, turn signals, interior lights, oil temp, volt, speedometer and tachometer gauges all work

• Cons:

  • Could use a re-spray

  • Some minor rust spots - see close-up pics on our website

  • Front seats have a couple rips in seams - also shown in pics

  • Rear seat on passenger side has an area that has been worn through - see pics

  • The windshield does have 2 horizontal cracks but is still functional - we may be able to help you source a new one
